Katelyn (Kate) Ferrara

Katelyn Ferrara is a passionate surfer, licensed cosmetologist, and devoted ocean lover with a unique vision for hair care that blends beauty, performance, and sustainability. With a degree in writing/marketing and experience as a former director of a Chamber of Commerce, Katelyn brings a creative edge and a deep understanding of eco-conscious branding and business.

A lifelong vegetarian, Katelyn’s commitment to the planet is evident in every product she creates. She’s a proud mom of two daughters and a true animal lover who enjoys gardening, swimming, surfing, skateboarding, and cooking. Growing up in the Adirondacks in Upstate NY and between the coasts of Florida and California, Katelyn developed her love for the beach early on. She feels most at home by the ocean, hunting for shark teeth, and catching waves.

Her mission is simple: to offer hair care products that protect and nourish hair while respecting the earth. Inspired by her love of surfing and the elements, Katelyn’s hair care line is designed to keep your hair healthy and vibrant, no matter where your adventures take you.

Melissa Anderson

Melissa grew up on a small farm in Maryland, where any vacation was a welcome change of pace from the grueling demands of raising livestock. Luckily her family camped out on the beach every year where they rode bikes and took in the salty air. The Ocean has always been her greatest escape from a relentless world. From a young age, she knew there was more to life than what her little town had to offer, so she went to the city to study.

College is where she discovered a true love for science and understanding of how the world works, graduating with a B.S. in Chemistry from Towson University. The idea of a 9-5 made her sour inside, so she joined the Peace Corps where the importance of community was imprinted on her forever. After returning to the States, she struggled for years to find her people and that sense of belonging. Until she found She’s on Edge, a women’s surf group based in Folly Beach, SC. She learned to surf and connected with the water in new ways that always felt like the best parts of her childhood.
